NEACOF (JJAS 2024) - Temperature - Chart Description
In JJA, many countries in NEACOF will be at harvest (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine) or mid-term (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan) season for the wheat crop.
For wheat crop at harvest stage, above normal temperature may decrease its production whereby an increase of 1 °C in temperature is projected to decrease wheat yields globally by 6%.
For wheat crop at mid-term stage, above normal temperature can cause shriveled and shrunken wheat kernels later in the season.

In JJA, many countries in NEACOF will be at harvest (Azerbaijan) or mid-season (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia , Ukraine) for the corn crop.
For corn crop at mid-season stage, above normal temperature exceeding 30 degree Celsius can be detrimental to crop yield. Each additional day which exceeded 30 degree can result in crop yield reduction by 0.5% and 2% for irrigated and rainfed fields, respectively.
