ESCAP IBF Next Impact-Based Forecasting QGIS Plugin
About plugin
This plugin turns raw hazard and exposure data into simple, decision-ready impact estimates. Instead of stopping at “Where the hazard will occur”, it helps answer “who and what is likely to be affected, and by how much”, so that governments and sector agencies can act early and target resources where they matter most. Running fully on the user’s desktop inside QGIS, the plugin brings hazard layers, exposure data, and administrative boundaries into a common spatial frame. It classifies hazards using user-defined or default thresholds and calculates exposed people and critical infrastructure. Results are aggregated to reporting units and delivered as styled map layers, CSV tables, a one-page brief, and a one-page dashboard-style brief that summarises each risk band and its associated impacts.
